GD’s Short Profile
Gianmaria Durastante was born on 11th February 1991 in Verona, Italy. He started his study in physics in 2010 at the University of Trento and three years later he received his Bachelor’s degree with a thesis on the experimental aspects of high-temperature superconductivity. Afterwards, he continued his Master studies in Trento and in October 2015 he graduated with an experimental thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. Franco Dalfovo and Dr. Gabriele Ferrari (BEC Center, Trento) on gray-molasses laser cooling of sodium atoms.
In November 2015 he joined the group of Francesca Ferlaino at the IQOQI (Innsbruck) to work on the upcoming RARE experiment for his Ph.D.
