		{"id":54233,"date":"2025-08-13T11:21:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T09:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.erbium.at\/FF\/?page_id=54233"},"modified":"2026-03-02T16:46:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T15:46:25","slug":"dypqslab","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.erbium.at\/FF\/research\/dypqslab\/","title":{"rendered":"DyPQ-S Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We are currently designing and building a next generation programmable optical tweezer setup with ultracold dysprosium to perform beyond state-of-the-art quantum simulation, quantum computation and quantum information processing.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>This project is a collaboration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dipc.ehu.eus\/en\">Donostia International Physics Center<\/a> (DIPC) in San Sebastian\/Donostia (Spain), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uibk.ac.at\/exphys\/index.html.en\">Institute of Experimental Physics<\/a> of the University of Innsbruck and the <a href=\"https:\/\/iqoqi.at\/en\/\">Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information<\/a> (IQOQI) in Innsbruck.<\/p>\r\n<p>Using our strong experience from the ERBIUM, Er-Dy and T-Reqs experiments, we will set up a new apparatus exploiting the possibility of ultrafast free-space imaging below micrometer resolution as well as local manipulation using optical tweezers and spatial light modulators.<\/p>\r\n<p>Lanthanide atoms with their multi-electron shell configuration have very peculiar properties, like many stable isotopes and a rich optical spectrum.
