Simon becomes an Erwin-Schrödinger fellow

Simon Baier has been awarded a three-year Erwin-Schrödinger fellowship from the FWF for his project “QuantNet”. He will carry out his research as a post-doctoral fellow in the group of Ronald Hanson at Qutech in Delft. Within this project, he will employ electronic and nuclear spins in Nitrogen-Vacancy centers in diamond with the aim of building the first large-scale quantum network.

In the third year he will return to the University of Innsbruck as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Tracy Northup to work on a distributed quantum network of trapped ions.
Congratulations!
