FC’s Short Profile

Ferdinand was born on 22nd November 1995 in Paris, France. He started his studies in physics in 2015 at the Institut d’Optique in Palaiseau, where he obtained his engineering degree in 2018. He then moved to Sorbonne University in Paris, where he completed a Master’s degree in optics and condensed matter in 2019.
In October 2019, he started his Ph.D. in the Quantum Fluids of Light team at the Kastler Brossel laboratory in Paris, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Bramati. His experimental work there focused on polariton superfluids in semiconductor microcavities.
In particular, he studied the formation of vortices and dark solitons, the spectrum of polaritons collective excitations and some dissipative phase transitions.
He defended his thesis in October 2022 and joined the Erbium team in December as a postdoc.
