CB’s Short Profile

Cosetta grew up on the Tuscan seaside and studied Physics at the University of Pisa, where she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. For her master’s thesis, she moved to Trieste, working under the supervision of Maria Luisa Chiofalo, Andrea Trombettoni, and Giacomo Gori. There, she carried out a theoretical investigation of how atomic interactions influence the sensitivity of ultracold atom interferometers. For her PhD, she joined the group of Rudolf Grimm in Innsbruck, where she conducted experimental research on impurity physics in ultracold lithium–potassium mixtures. After a short postdoctoral stay in the same group, she moved to Trento to work with Giacomo Lamporesi and Gabriele Ferrari on sodium spin mixtures, focusing on the physics of false vacuum decay. She subsequently returned to Innsbruck to continue her work on impurity physics in Grimm’s group. In 2026, she joined the group of Professor Francesca Ferlaino as an Academy Scientist.
