Quantum Gas Microscope & Optical Tweezers Openings 2026
Review of applications starts on 15 July 2026 and continues until the positions are filled.
We are looking for motivated Postdoctoral Researchers and PhD students to join the Dipolar Quantum Gases group led by Prof. Francesca Ferlaino at the University of Innsbruck and IQOQI Innsbruck.
The new team members will work on quantum gas microscopy or optical tweezer platforms with highly magnetic atoms, exploring strongly correlated and dipolar quantum matter at the single-particle level.
This is an opportunity to help build and shape an exciting experimental direction in a highly collaborative quantum science environment in Innsbruck.
We especially encourage applications from candidates with experimental backgrounds in AMO physics and quantum gases.
OPEN POSITIONS
PhD and Postdoctoral positions
We invite applications from experimental physicists with a strong background in AMO physics, ultracold atoms, quantum gases, optical tweezers, microscopy, laser systems, quantum optics, or related fields.
Postdoctoral researchers will have the opportunity to take a leading role in the development of the new platform, contribute to the scientific direction of the project, supervise junior researchers, and collaborate within the broader Innsbruck quantum science environment.
Candidates with demonstrated prior experience in experimental AMO physics and ultracold quantum gases will be given priority.
