The Italian ambassador to Austria, Sergio Barbanti, visits the AG Ferlaino
On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the foundation of the University of Innsbruck, the Italian ambassador to Austria, Sergio Barbanti, will visit our group. Professor Ferlaino will guide the ambassador, accompanied by the representative of the Innsbruck’s Italien-Zentrum Dr. Tasser and Ms Romeo, around the IQOQI’s and University’s labs.
Arno becomes a Lise-Meitner fellow
Arno has been awarded the prestigious Lise-Meitner postdoctoral fellowship position from the FWF. This fellowship enables him to work on a new research project within the dipolar quantum gases group led by Francesca Ferlaino.
Alexandre joins the Erbium-lab
Alexandre de Martino, master student from the Institut d’Optique at Palaiseau, France, joins our group for five months to do his final master internship. He will focus on upgrading the transversal cooling scheme of our Erbium experiment.
ESQ Discovery project awarded to Manfred
Manfred has been awarded one of five ESQ Discovery projects, where the Erwin Schrödinger Center for Quantum Science & Technology supports radically new ideas, innovative research and high-risk projects, before they are sufficiently grown and competitive to succeed in established European or national funding schemes.
Benedict joins T-REQS-lab
Benedict Hochreiter has joined the T-REQS team for his master thesis. He will concentrate on Rydberg physics in multi electron atoms.
