Welcome to Eder!

A warm welcome to Eder Vera-Guzman!

Eder completed his bachelor studies at Yachay Tech University, San Miguel de Urcuquí, Ecuador. FOr his Master studies, he was awarded with a full scholarship to the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master QUARMEN, where he spent one semester at Rome studying physics. He completed his master’s thesis at Thales Research & Technology on laser architectures for the control of quantum systems right across Institut d’Optique Graduate School where he also received lectures.
Eder is joining our group for a collaborative PhD stay for the construction of the new Dysprosium lab in Donostia, San Sebastian.

Goodbye to Ester!

We say goodbye to to Ester Carranza Botey, who was joining our group here in Innsbruck as a guest for seven months. We wish you all the best for your future!

Goodbye to Héctor!

We say goodbye to Héctor Briongos, PhD student at the University of Barcelona, who was visiting our theory team since September. Héctor, we wish you all the best for the future and see you around!

Welcome to quantA Fellow Silvia!

We warmly welcome Silvia Trabucco as a PostDoc in our theory team! Silvia completed her PhD at the Gran Sasso Science Institute in the group of Massimo Mannarelli. During her PhD, together with our former group members Elena Poli and Thomas Bland, she contributed to the development of the first analog model of a neutron star using dipolar atoms in the supersolid phase.

Furthermore, Silvia was awarded with the two-year QuantA Fellowship 2025 – Empowering Women in Quantum Science, with her application titled “Unfolding neutron stars with supersolids”. Congratulations for this achievement and welcome to our group!

Welcome to Manex!

We welcome Manex Ugarte-Egana from Mondragon University (Basque Country), who will join our group for his Bachelor thesis until July 2026! Manex studies physics and engineering and he will work on a ARTIQ-based control sytem for our new labs.
