Welcome to Daniel!
Daniel Samoylov is a Master student from Frankfurt am Main. He completed his Bachelor at Goethe-University in Frankfurt in the group of Prof. Walter Hofstetter, where he investigated topological phases. For his Master’s thesis project he stayed in the same group and focused on the investigation of ultracold fermionic quantum gases with cavity mediated long-range interactions using Dynamical Mean-Field Theory.
In June 2026, he joined our theory group for an additional research project where he will investigate quantum simulation of lattice gauge theories.
A warm welcome to our group, Daniel!
Welcome to Samy!
Samy completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). FOr his Master’s thesis he worked on the simulation and characterization of optical confocal cavities in the Laboratory for Quantum Gases (LQG) led by Professor Jean-Philippe Brantut.
Samy moved to Innsbruck in May 2026 to begin his PhD in the Erbium Lab. A warm welcome to our group!
Welcome to Cosetta!
Cosetta completed her bachelor and master studies in physics at the University of Pisa. For her PhD, she joined the group of Rudolf Grimm in Innsbruck, where she carried out experimental research on impurity physics in ultracold lithium–potassium mixtures. She then moved to Trento to work with Giacomo Lamporesi and Gabriele Ferrari on sodium spin mixtures, focusing on false vacuum decay. She later returned to Innsbruck to continue her research on impurity physics in Grimm’s group.
We are excited that Cosetta is joining our group as an Academy Scientist in March 2026!
